Dutch ovens
§ Two are broken, they are missing legs.
§ We should have seven dutch ovens
§ Mr. Knill has one without the legs; he is using it to keep stuff warm in.
Summer camp
1. Camp Cole
§ Because we will arrive a day early, we (the scouts/ and the leaders) will need to bring extra food.
§ This will be a perfect time for people who need requirements for 1st and 2nd class to get the requirements singed off.
§ The fee to go to camp is less expensive and does not include a scout t-shirt. If scouts want a t-shirt, they will have to buy one.
2. Camp Makajawan
§ Because none of the drivers going have a hitch, Mr. Knill was kind enough to get or buy a hitch so they can bring along the trailer.
(The committee will talk about it at their next meeting)
The planning committee
§ We will be meeting at Camp Okarro on August 15th.
§ The meeting is from noon – 6 p.m. Scouts should bring their own lunch.
§ Scouts will provide a pizza dinner at the end of the meeting.
§ We have to get the school calendars from all of the different schools so that Mr. Nagelhout can compile a master list.
Kumbaya
§ We are going, for meal plans we will stay as patrols
Standing honor guard
§ There will be a standing honor guard that is called upon whenever an honor guard is needed.(still thinking how long term will be)
§ Mr. Robison, Gagnon and Hirsh (all military background scout masters) will teach this honor guard.
Merit badge
§ Date will be moved to after summer camp
Patrol campout
§ Was fun
§ Some kids were over-dramatic (4 kids)
§ WE NEED THE STRANGER DANGER TALK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! . They talked to some men that came out of the bathroom. They ended up being scout masters from anther troop but they were still strangers.
§ Bounty hunters have to plan a date and location for their patrol campout.
Other
§ We need was to find a way to get older scouts to come on the camp-outs. (We lack older authority).
§ We may do a troop/ high adventure activity
